If you use the contact form, it collects the information you enter so I can read and respond to your message. I do not sell it or add you to a marketing list.

Form submissions are processed and stored by Netlify, the service that hosts this site.

Analytics

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate traffic and performance measurement. It does not use advertising trackers.

Ask Aaron

Ask Aaron is an AI companion based on my public writing, not a conversation with me live. It can get things wrong. Its interpretations are not new statements, advice, or commitments from me or Studio Science.

Finding pages and discussing them share one conversation. Before the first AI reply, the companion asks permission to send messages to the AI provider. You can instead choose “Just find pages” for local results without sending your queries to an AI provider. That option remains available under “Privacy & AI” in the conversation options.

If you enable AI replies, your questions and searches, recent AI dialogue, current page reference, and relevant public source passages are sent through Netlify to Anthropic to generate and check a response. A reply may take more than one model call for an evidence review and a correction. Older local-only search messages are excluded from later AI conversation history. Please do not enter confidential, sensitive, or client information. Processing by those services is subject to their own policies, including Anthropic’s privacy policy.

The companion keeps up to 20 recent messages in this browser tab’s session storage so you can continue while moving between pages. Select “New conversation” in the options to clear that local conversation. There is no account or cross-device memory, and the companion does not save a server-side conversation history. Hosting and AI-provider operational records may be handled separately under those services’ policies. Clearing the conversation here does not delete any provider records.

When live replies are enabled, short-lived request counters help limit abuse and cost. They use a daily-changing keyed hash of the network address, not the conversation text. Disabling AI replies stops future messages from being sent; it does not recall a request already sent.

Operational monitoring records whether a reply succeeded, its duration, model-call and token counts, and a general failure category. These records do not include your questions, answers, page references, network address or request headers. Aggregate hourly counters expire after 48 hours and daily counters after 35 days from their last update. Hosting logs follow the hosting provider’s retention policy. Operational alerts contain service status and aggregate counts, not conversations.
